A Close Look at New Crosscut Blades

Freud_crosscut_chopsaw_power_toolManufacturers are always developing new tools, and I get to test them sometimes before they make it onto store shelves. Since earlier this week I’ve been using two new crosscut blades from Freud, and they deliver the smoothest cuts I’ve ever seen from a chopsaw. Take a look at the close-up photo here and see for yourself. Keep in mind that this shot was taken with strong, LED side lighting to amplify any imperfections. The cut is a 45º mitre on black walnut, and the slight teeth marks you see near the arrows can’t be detected by your fingers. The blade was used in Bosch’s new 12″ axial glide mitre saw.
