WHY IS THIS HAPPENING? Pasture Plants Thrive in Deep Quarry Waste

Nutritious pasture plants such as alfalfa, clover and trefoil aren’t all that easy to grow. I know because I’ve been planting them for years. Normally you need to buy expensive seed, plant these seeds in good soil free of weeds, then hope for favourable growing conditions while the seedlings get started. So how come there’s clover and alfalfa and trefoil growing like crazy in the by-product of rock quarry operations?
