Hands-On Look at Cordless Finishing Nailers

Every bench surface in my workshop is covered in cordless finishing nailers right now. I’m completing a test of all models for an upcoming feature story in Canadian Home Workshop magazine, so if you have any questions, now’s a good time to ask. The nailers shoot either 15- or 16-gauge finishing nails, ranging from 1 1/4″ to 2 1/2″ long. There’s a wide range of technology used in these models, and some definitely work better than others. If you’re thinking of installing trim at your place, and don’t want the hassle and expense of an air compressor, cordless nailers are worth a look.
