Canadian Outdoor Wood Furnace a Green Success Story

Outdoor Wood Furnaces Burning Cleaner

Outdoor wood-burning boilers make it easier and safer to heat homes and workshops with wood, but smokey performance has always been a problem. Tightening laws in the US are forcing manufacturers to create cleaner burning designs, and a company in western Canada is at the leading edge of these improvements. Next spring I’ll be installing an outdoor wood boiler to heat my house and workshop, and a wood gasification unit from Portage & Main has caught my eye. Overall combustion efficiencies are higher than anything else I’ve seen, and the unit operates more or less smokelessly because everything gets burned. Combustion temperatures approaching 2000ºF are the reason why. Drop me a note if you’d like to learn more about what I’ve discovered.
